Online Giving

A number of parishioners have asked about online giving options during this time of crisis. While we are not currently in any sort of financial crisis, we will not be immune to the long-term economic impact of this epidemic. If you would like to support our parish during this time, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Click THIS LINK to go to the secure donation website setup by the Diocese of Erie and the Catholic Foundation of NW PA.
  2. Select “St. Joseph, Oil City” from the dropdown menu on the right.
  3. Select the amount you would like to give.
  4. Choose whether or not to cover the credit card fee and/or to make the donation recurring so you don’t have to go through this process again.
    1. NB: Most online services that securely process credit card transactions cover their costs by charging a fee for each donation. It is often between 1-2%. So, for instance, if you choose to give $100 and the fee is 2%, our parish will receive $98 and the company that processes the transactions keeps $2. It is not unlike the way in which the parish pays for envelopes to be mailed to your home. If you choose the “Increase my donation amount to cover credit card fees,” you will be charged the additional amount for the fee, and the parish will keep the full amount of the original donation. For instance, if you choose to cover a 2% fee on a $100 donation, you will be charged $102 and the parish will receive $100.
    2. NB: We do not know the exact percentage of the service fee at this time, but as we noted, they are usually 1-2%.
  5. Enter your payment information.
  6. Click “Donate Now.”

Thank you for your generosity.
